R&Development (Applied Research and Social Implementation)

We collaborate with Kyoto University and various companies and institutions to conduct joint research and project-based development, focusing on PCSELs. Our emphasis lies particularly on applied research and societal implementation. While Kyoto University’s PCSEL-COE primarily engages in fundamental research, our efforts are directed toward accelerating practical applications by concentrating on device fabrication and hands-on research and development. Networking and Outreach

We actively engage in networking activities to foster collaboration among universities, manufacturing and application companies, and various organizations involved in PCSEL and related technologies. Additionally, we promote these technologies by providing diverse and comprehensive information about PCSELs.

Our mission is to build an ecosystem that connects companies across the entire PCSEL value chain—from nanostructure formation to device manufacturing and application system development—facilitating innovative collaborations to advance social implementation. Device Provision

We provide cutting-edge PCSELs for evaluation and utilization on a paid basis. This service is tailored for companies and institutions seeking to explore the practicality of PCSELs or integrate them into innovative systems. A variety of PCSEL types are available to meet diverse application needs. Additionally, we offer opportunities for experimental research collaborations at Kyoto University, including commissioned research fellowships and other arrangements as required.

Pulsed Operation: 500 µm diameter high beam quality PCSEL (10W class, CAN package)
CW Operation: 500 µm diameter high beam quality PCSEL (1W class, CAN package with electronic cooling)
CW Operation: 1 mm diameter high beam quality PCSEL (5-10W class, water-cooled package)

Equipment lending and technical support

To support companies in their research, development, and early-stage mass production efforts, we provide guidance on the manufacturing technology of PCSELs. Our services include technical support for equipment usage and equipment lending, facilitated through collaboration with the Kyoto University Equipment Support Hub, “Katsura Yui.” Additionally, we offer technical advice to enhance technological capabilities and accelerate development processes.
